Meet the Qovery Team: Guillaume, Staff Solutions Architect
Meet Guillaume Da Silva, Staff Solutions Architect at Qovery. He shares his journey from cloud and DevOps consulting to helping engineering teams solve complex platform challenges.
Guillaume, Could You Please Introduce Yourself and Briefly Describe Your Professional Background?
My name is Guillaume, and I am a Staff Solutions Architect at Qovery.
Before joining Qovery, I spent almost twelve years at Devoteam, working across cloud architecture, DevOps, Kubernetes, and platform engineering. I started in hands-on technical roles and progressively moved into architecture, consulting, and team leadership. Before leaving, I was managing a Cloud and DevOps practice of around 90 consultants through a team of managers.
I joined Qovery because I wanted to get closer to the product, the customers, and the actual problems engineering teams are trying to solve.
What Is Your Role at Qovery, and What Do You Do?
My role sits at the intersection of customers, sales, product, and engineering.
I work mainly on presales and strategic customer engagements. I help companies understand how Qovery can fit into their existing cloud and Kubernetes environments, identify the real technical and organizational problems behind their initial requests, and design a solution that makes sense for them.
This includes running discovery sessions, preparing and delivering demos, designing architectures, supporting evaluations and proofs of concept, and removing technical uncertainty during the sales process.
I also spend time with existing customers on complex architecture questions, troubleshooting, and platform best practices. Because I am close to the field, part of my role is also to bring structured feedback back to our product and engineering teams.
What Do You Like Most About Working at Qovery?
What I like the most is the level of ownership.
Qovery is still a relatively small company, so you are not limited to a narrow job description. When you identify a problem or an opportunity, you can propose something, build it, and see the impact quickly.
I also really enjoy being close to every part of the company. I can have a strategic conversation with a customer, work with the sales team on positioning, discuss a technical limitation with engineering, and contribute to the product narrative, sometimes all on the same day.
There is a lot of trust, but that trust also comes with responsibility. You need to be proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and willing to challenge ideas constructively.
Agents ship fast. Guardrails keep them safe.
Qovery ensures every agent action is scoped, audited, and policy-checked. Start deploying in under 10 minutes.
There is not really a completely typical day, which is one of the things I enjoy.
I may start with a discovery call with a prospect to understand their platform strategy, their Kubernetes environment, or how they want to govern the use of AI agents.
I might then prepare a tailored demo, review a customer architecture, help troubleshoot a technical issue, or work with an Account Executive on the strategy for an opportunity.
During the day, I also regularly exchange with product and engineering teams to share feedback from customers, clarify technical capabilities, or discuss how Qovery should evolve.
A significant part of the job is translating between different worlds: business objectives, developer experience, security, infrastructure constraints, and platform engineering principles.
How Do You Like to Spend Your Free Time When You Are Not Working?
I like building things.
I spend quite a lot of my free time working on home lab projects, Kubernetes clusters, electronics, 3D printing, and small DIY projects. I enjoy understanding how things work, designing parts, and sometimes spending far too much time improving something that was already working.
I also enjoy sports, hiking, weightlifting, and, most importantly, spending time with my family.
Do You Have Any Final Advice for Someone Who Wants to Join Qovery?
Do not join Qovery expecting someone to give you a perfectly defined list of tasks.
Come with curiosity, energy, and a willingness to take ownership. Be ready to learn quickly, ask difficult questions, and contribute outside the strict boundaries of your role.
Being technically strong is important, but it is not enough. You also need to understand people, communicate clearly, and connect what you are doing to a real customer or business outcome.
My final advice would be: be genuine. Do not pretend to know everything. Show how you think, how you learn, and how you react when the answer is not obvious. At Qovery, ownership, transparency, and the ability to move things forward matter a lot.
