Qovery enables deployment of Terraform manifests and templates to manage cloud resources lifecycle. This functionality leverages Qovery’s Lifecycle Jobs feature, allowing users to package and execute Terraform configurations directly on Kubernetes clusters.
Key Implementation Steps
1. Service Addition
Access your environment and select “Add Service” to initiate the deployment process.
2. Template Selection
Choose the “Terraform” option from the available service creation options and follow the guided setup.
3. Manifest Configuration
Specify the git repository path containing your Terraform files.
4. Customization Components
The platform provides pre-configured elements:
- Dockerfile: Packages the manifest and executes appropriate Terraform commands based on triggered events
- Triggers: Default configurations align with the Dockerfile (e.g., “start” executes
terraform apply)
- Resource Allocation: Default CPU/Memory values optimized for Terraform CLI execution on Kubernetes
- Environment Variables: Support for terraform.tfvars as environment files and additional variables (AWS credentials, etc.)
5. Deployment Execution
Create and deploy the job to trigger manifest execution.
6. Output Integration
Terraform outputs are automatically captured and injected as environment variables to other services within the same environment, enabling downstream resource consumption.
